1 – How much does it cost to study abroad in Singapore?

It depends on the educational level your children is on. For entry exams like AEIS and PACT, preparatory school fees is around S$36,000 per year. The living expense is around S$34,000 per year excluding tuitions. This varies with quality of life and academic needs.

2 – From what age should I send my child to study abroad in Singapore?

As a comparison to the States and United Kingdom, Singapore is a lot safer and comfortable.

First, public security is managed with an iron fist. Crime rates are one of the lowest in the world. Then, strict rules and regulations ensure fairness and civil-mindedness. Singapore also carries the culture of racial harmony and communal spirit. Thus, you may send your child as young as 10 years old!

On the other hand, we do advise against sending your child when after they are 15 years old. Reason being, they need more time to adapt and the Singapore secondary school education system is much more challenging at this stage of their age.

3 – How long does it take for my child to adapt to Singapore’s education system?

Differs depend on adaptability of each child, it can be between 3 months to 12 months. Mainly depends on the ability to grasp the English language.

Based on experiences, usually much faster when the child is younger, before 13 years old as Singapore's secondary school education is challenging even for local students.

5 – Major misunderstandings on Singapore’s school system.

One of the major misunderstanding is that International School and Private School are similar in education standard. This is untrue. International schools in Singapore are well regulated by Singapore rules and regulations and they are enforced to be meant for international students. Local students are not allowed to enroll under normal circumstances.

In fact, Singapore International Schools are performing above global averages in IB (International Baccalaureate) exams! Basically, all our International School's IB students are global high achievers!

Another major misunderstanding is that Singapore's polytechnic system is inferior as compared to high school systems (A' Levels, IBDP etc.). This is also untrue. Singapore awarded polytechnic diploma certificates are highly valued, both in Singapore and globally.
